Summer Tournament 2019

Image
The 2019 Summer Lightening Tournament was held on Tuesday 13th July. There were 18 entrants, three of whom came from our Junior Club.  Ten seconds were allowed per move, as signaled by a buzzer  - three short bleeps followed by a long bleep on which each move must be made.  The Tournament was held over five rounds, using the Swiss System in which winners play winners and loosers play loosers - thus the "cream" rises to the top and players with similar scores play each other, but never more than once.   The winner was Carl Kennedy, who won all five of his games; with Chris Kaye being the runner up.  The photo shows Carl (on the right) being presented with the Tournament Trophy by Phil Ramsey, the Club President.
