Message from the Lichess Tournament Organiser Phil Ramsey: "I’ve decided to stop the weekly Lichess tournament because we haven’t really been getting enough players for several weeks now. I started it nearly 2 years ago to help us all through the lockdowns, so it’s served it’s purpose and most of us are back playing over-the-board again. If anyone would like some Lichess games on a Thursday evening, I’ll log-on if I’m free and we can send individual challenges, but I won’t be setting-up any more weekly tournaments."
The previously published closure times have been revised as follows: The Junior Club will not be running on 21st and 28th December and 4th January. Normal activties will resume on 11th January. The Senior Club will only be closed on 28th december and will be open all other weeks.
We are pleased to confirm that Southport Chess Club restarted on Tuesday 20th July at the Central Club on Bath Street. As before the lockdown, the Junior club meets from 6 - 7.30pm and the Senior club from 7.30pm onwards.
